I was very honoured to be asked by the Hampshire Police Force to give the after dinner talk at their Annual Ball in June.

 

Hampshire really is one of the most beautiful counties in the UK, and the venue for rthe evening - Steeple Court Manor - was extremely glamorous. I could get used to such surroundings!

 

The proceeds from the evening were divided between a breast cancer charity and the ABC Animal Sanctuary.

 

I began my talk by saying it was one of those rare occasions when I had no qualms about leaving my handbag unattended! I then told the story of how I had been arrested for stealing my dog and had my mug shot and fingerprints taken at Saville Row Police Station in central London.

 

In my defence, I did say at the time that nobody in their right mind would steal a dobermann that wasn't theirs.  Needless to say, the case was dropped and every Christmas following the "arrest",  Blue, my dobermann, received a card which read: "To Blue from the Boys in Blue".
